August 31, 201510 yr I'd say that's clearly an erroneous listing for the following reasons ... (a) There are no 2.5" drives with capacities > 2TB; (b) The dimensions of the drive are not large enough to contain 2 drives; and © The WD site for the PassPort Ultra shows several models, ranging in size from 500GB to 2TB (i.e. they don't make a 3TB version).

August 31, 201510 yr http://www.ebay.com/itm/321839854289?rmvSB=true What's inside, I wonder... My bet is on the Toshiba MQ03ABB300, or WD similar.
August 31, 201510 yr Very interesting ... clearly there IS now a 3TB 2.5" drive. I based my earlier comment on (a) the lack of any 3TB internal 2.5" drives at Newegg, Amazon, CDW, etc. and (b) WD's specifications page for the PassPort Ultra: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1000 But clearly Toshiba has a 750GB/platter notebook unit now with 3TB of capacity. ... and I'd agree that must be the drive that's in this unit.
August 31, 201510 yr http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1490 Shows 3TB a little bit down the page..
August 31, 201510 yr Yes, I saw that in the link c3 posted earlier. Note that a Google search for "Passport Ultra" returns BOTH the link I posted and the newer link that shows the 3TB models ... but the one I posted is listed first. Apparently Western Digital simply created an entirely new page rather than updating the existing page on the Passport Ultras. [Note the difference in the links ... "id=1000" vs "id=1490"]
September 1, 201510 yr This post ( http://www.tomshardware.com/news/seagate-hdd-2tb-mobile-laptop,29983.html ) makes me wonder what WD has done here... ??
September 1, 201510 yr I do not think the drive inside this is a 2.5" form factor drive as we're used to. I think they ballooned the thickness of a 2.5" drive to fit 3TB, rather then use a 3.5" drive. This likely to retain the 5V requirement of 2.5" motors.
September 2, 201510 yr The drive is 15mm thick according to its specs -- too thick to fit the vast majority of laptops. It has 4 750GB platters.
