Please update rsync

Featured Replies

Reason:

Beginning with rsync v3.1.0, released in 2013, there is the --info flag which allows fine-grained control over the output.

What version of unRAID are we talking about?

Seems like 3.1.0 is already installed in unRAID 6.1.2

The info flag looks present as well.

root@unRAIDb:~# cat /etc/unraid-version

Aww, of course...

On my "productive" machine I still run 5.0.6...and if I remember correct, there is rsync 3.0.7 or so.

Any chance to get that updated?

A detailed procedure is needed here!  :-[

Valid point though, there are more issues than just rsync that are addressed in the 6.x new versions. I strongly recommend moving to 6 vs trying to patch 5.

;D Nice play guys!

I'm following the v6 releases but I must admit I'm very comfortable with

the primary server as it is running now.

I mentioned already, I have v6 running on the backup rig.

With respect to the primary machine I live by the slogan "Never change a running system!"

I will update once the noise has settled.
