What is the FTP Server used for and why is it running?  Can i turn it off

well i turned it off, not sure why or how it was on by default

People, unRAID has a built-in help function. Please turn it ON and learn more!

 

The FTP server is exactly what it says on the tin.

Guess I should be more clear.  I know what an FTP server is but not sure why it was on by default?  I had no user setup on it, so why have it on?

 

Also never knew how that help feature worked, thanks for that.  I get it now
