tmn
Hi! I'm new to unraid, and I'm trying to set it up with a Windows VM. I've already set up my three data disks + 2 SSDs for caching. But when creating the Windows VM, I'm not able to chose anything other than VNC under "Graphic Card". Anyone who sees what the problem could be? My Hardware is: CPU: Intel i5 3570k (overclocked) GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD65 I've tried adding the card to pci-stub.ids, and switching between two of the PCI slots. Haven't tried the last one yet. Virtualization tech is enabled (VT-x) EDIT: in BIOS settings I've set Integrated graphics settings: virtu tech: i-mode (display connected to onboard gpu) initiate graphic adapter: IGD IGD Multi-Monitor: disabled Memory set to 256 and maximum Link to comment
itimpi
When you click on the Info button in the unRAID GUI does it say that IOMMU is enabled or disabled? That option has to be shown as enabled to be able to pass thru a GPU. Link to comment
tmn
Ah, it is disabled cuz the 3570k has vt-x and not vt-d. Well, that's a bummer Link to comment
CHBMB
I think vt-d is disabled in k processors Link to comment
saarg
I think vt-d is disabled in k processors In some/most k processors. The 4790k has vt-d http://ark.intel.com/products/80807/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_40-GHz Link to comment
antoinecampeau
It is disabled on all I5 and I7 prior to 4790K (4770k, 3770K, 2600K). Note that it generally enabled on non-K chips. If you want best of both world, go on "X" socket (X79, X99). Chips like the 3930k, 4390k, 5820K, 5930K are VT-D enabled, but cost more. Link to comment
