Disk Shares gone upgrading from v5

Featured Replies

I just upgraded my last v5 server to v6 and the disk shares are all gone except for Disk20.

To convert to v6, I reformatted my flash and only copied my config file contents to the newly made v6 key.  Server boots up fine, and all user shares are fine.  However if I click on the disk shares tab, only 1 disk shows up???

Any ideas?

Have you enabled disk shares under Settings->Global Share Settings?  The option to enable/disable disk shares is new with v6.  By default they are disabled to reduce the chance of users experiencing data loss by mixing disk and user shares in the same copy command.

Yes, you were right.  It was set to auto, which for some reason allowed disk20 to show.

Changing to yes allowed all drives to become visible and for their shares to be manageable.

Thanks

Now go back to the Global Share Settings page and turn on Help. Heed the warning that advises against turning on disk shares. Search for User Share Copy Bug or you will be sorry.
