February 16, 201610 yr I have a new unRAID server I am testing out. Before I go in the deep end of this I am curious about best options to backup this server. I do have a crashplan account and it seems like I could use that. Granted I do understand this box is fault tolerant but I am also looking for an external and offsite backup. Thanks in advance!
February 16, 201610 yr There is a crashplan docker... So you can backup the whole of your server using your existing crashplanb account.
February 17, 201610 yr +1 for the crashplan docker. This has recently been updated so everything is inside 1 docker container (you dont need the crashplan desktop container any more). Put it in, selct your files / folders to back up and just let it get on with it - but do double check the recovery options every now and again so you can confirm updates are happening (lesson from recent experience of everything looking perfect but no update really happening for a few months !)
February 17, 201610 yr Question which I think the OP would want to know (so as to limit my guilt at potential thread hijacking) can you use the Crashplan Docker to backup to a local source? EDIT: No matter - found the answer in the Crashplan Docker thread FAQ here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=33864.0
