Docker, import old plex install

Featured Replies

Hi all

is there a way to migrate my existing plex to a docker?

i want my "stats" for what i have seen and not seen ;)

Guess there are some wiz in here how can guide me  :D

All I did was take my "Library" folder and its contents and put it in my appdata folder location - then point the docker mapping of /config to that location.

Map your media folders so they are the same

When you install/start the plex docker it will see your Library and settings and continue from where you left off

It should be that simple. A couple more things you should consider though... some of the dockers and plugins have different default users (some run a nobody, others run a root, others run as something else) so you might have to chown or to change owners.  (and maybe chmod for permissions if those are weird too) Also there was a one point inconstancy in path naming between some of the plugins and it was "library" vs "Library" so you might have to fix that as well.

It's possible you won't have to do either of these things... just letting you know possible solutions if you run into issues.

And I think linuxserver.io Plex docker will fix this for you the first time it runs.
