Removing a Drive under unRAID v6

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

i plan to rearange my arry and replace 2x 1,5TB HDD with one 3TB HDD.

I found this:

https://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Shrink_array

but this article told me, its not updated for v6.

So i am a little bit confused.

Can i use this procedure or is there a different way to safly remove a drive from the arry?

Thanks in advance  ;)

Procedure is the same, in your case it’s probably easier to upgrade one of the 1.5TB disks (the one with more data) to the 3TB, after the upgrade is done copy all data from the other 1.5TB disk and then remove it.

Hi guys,

Will the 'new config' clear up any other settings, other than the disk assignments + voiding parity?

I worry about my users list, shares settings, dockers settings and also cache disk settings/assignments.

Thanks

You won't lose the cache settings but cache disk(s) will have to be reassigned.
