BUMP.... So where from here?

I'm not sure...  I would take a screen shot of your drive assignments, grab another USB key, set it up as a trial licence and see if a completely stock installation works for you (after installing CA)

I will take a snap shot of my drives, but I don't think I want to re-install a triall copy particularly as this is happening on two completely different machines so the installation of unraid cant be the problem.

Unless you changed something in both installs.

I have only ever pressed the update button? all the drives and the unraid system operate as normal so it would indicate that somewhere in the update process the problem lies.

I am really disappointed with this, the only saving grace is I dont use any dockers at all, thank god. So there is nothing I can delete to put this right? I cant even update Unraid when the time comes.............every pluggin states no updates available.

Have you ever tried setting static dns addresses of 8.8.8.8 and 8.

8.4.4

That advice was given quite early on in this problem and I changed it with absolutely no difference. And, for any sceptics reading, this all worked fine, its nothing I have done, I don't build my own servers I pay to have them built.

ok... Shot in the dark.  Try installing this plugin (if it will install) and see what if anything it comes up with:

What happens if you just click on the link instead of pasting it into the plugin install page?

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/fix.common.problems/master/plugins/fix.common.problems.plg

does it show a page with text like this?

<?xml version='1.0' standalone='yes'?>

Yes it does open into the text shown, but when pasted into the install plugins shows error 404

Best guess is that your network settings in unraid are not correct, or you have a modification to unraid or your router that is blocking access.

If you believe that to be the cause. Please advise me what the settings should be. But I have not modified unraid in any way and as far as I am aware my router is not blocking anything. I tried to update with my virus software turned off with the same result.

Try temporarily turning on DHCP, restart and see if updates work.
