Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk With that case you'll need to add a plastic or cardboard piece from the top of the case to the bottom and from the side fans to the drive cage, separating the front/side fans from the motherboard. Basically you'll be forcing the air intake through the drive cage. Otherwise air takes the path of least resistance and just flows right over the motherboard and out the back leaving your hard drives running hot during parity checks and high i/o. There's a thread on here about it. I believe I used 8", 10" and 12" cables.
May 30, 201610 yr The AsRock board is very nice for mini-ITX builds -- 8 SATA ports are perfect for the DS380 case. If this is purely a NAS, the Pentium G4400 is fine; if you're planning to run any CPU-intensive "stuff" (e.g. Plex streams) or set up some VM's, you may want to consider moving to a Xeon for the extra "horsepower".
