Unrar help with couchpotatoe

Featured Replies

I have a docker that needs to be able to unrar files (Couchpotatoe). I assume this is something that is going to be needed regardless of what version of the docker I use which is why I havent posted it in the dockers support thread but feel free to move the topic if need be.

So far I have worked out that unmenu has unrar and all I need to do is install it from the unmenu gui within unRAID. So I have done that.

What I am unclear on is what is the path I use within couchpotatoe itself and does this path need to be added to the volume mapping. (From where to Where)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Linux noob.

Not my Forte but doesn't the d/l client do the unraring and cp just moves it.  Every d/l client I've used unraring automatically and includes unrar

You could be correct, I am using Deluge that needs me to install something called a egg.

However this is not ideal and would rather let CP do it.

Thanks for the info however... gives me a last resort at least.

No expert as only started doing this my self but I thought CP just manages your requests and passes it to the torrent or usenet client of choice in my case, sabnzbd and tranmission. These will download and extract. CP doesnt actually download anything other than metadata in your library unless im missing something.

You are correct it doesn't download anything however when cp goes to rename the file it has the option to extract before renaming, you will find this in settings/rename.

I know someone here is using the feature because I saw a screen shot of it but can't for the life of me find it.

One question I need to ask however is if  I get deluge to unrar the file will it move it first then unrar or will it unrar first then move it as I have deluge set to move the file once finished.

So just had a look at my settings and there is a setting to extract if rar file found but I think this would be used if you add a managed folder with rar files within it.

If you go into advance view you can and unrar location. I have attached a screenshot.

Very true. NerdPack has unrar which I have installed I just need someone who is using it or knows how to set it up as far as what the directory is and if it needs to be mapped.
