[Solved] Copy to unRAID at 700MB/sec... but read at only 100MB/sec

Featured Replies

I'm running Intel 10GbE cards in unRAD and workstation, and I have always been able to copy to and from unRAID at around 700MB/sec when both sides are fully caching the xfer in RAM.

Now with B23, I can copy TO unRaid (cache drive) at 700MB/sec no problems and it is fully buffered.  But trying to READ back the file, even though it is fully buffered in RAM, and the drive does not even wake up, reading back the file is only around 100MB/sec.

I've disabled jumbo frames on both sides, disabled LSO and flow control.  No joy.

My 10GbE network is working normally on beta23, ~700MB/s cached read/write speed, I'm using Mellanox adapter though, so maybe a Intel driver issue?

It was #&$%#@ Symantec (SEP).  Disabled it and reads went back to normal.

But something changed in the last few days with SEP.... it was running juuuuuuuust fine without disabling SEP.

What drives are you guys running To get these speeds? Are they in a raid array?
