Corsair TX650 has died

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Can anyone recommend a replacement PSU as my Corsair TX650 has died (puff of smoke and sparks from the switch area when switched on)

Thankfully my Server is undamaged I have a small PSU that i could test Motherboard and fans.

PSU details here - http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/tx-series-tx650-80-plus-bronze-certified-650-watt-high-performance-power-supply

I am using a MSI P6N Diamond series MB (MS-7320 (V1.X) Mainboard)

A small graphics card, 12 various fans and 20 HDDS

Thank you in advance

Paul

I stick to Seasonic for all my power supply needs, they are more expensive then other brands but they last and are the best quality in my experience.

You can have a read at johnyguru - the trusted review source for psu.

+1 for Seasonic - an X-650 should be fine in your scenario.  It's the one part of any PC build I never skimp on.  My oldest Seasonic is currently ticking over 11 years of frequent use!

Both Seasonic and Corsair are good choices, as long as you limit yourself to their higher end models.

A Seasonic X series is an excellent choice; as are the HX and AX Corsair units.

Both companies also make some lower-end, low-cost models that I would avoid.
