batfink
Seven 16x PCI-E 2.0 slots: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2010/01/27/evga-w555-dual-xeon-motherboard/1 Pointless post from an unRAID perspective? Yes. Fun to play with? Oh yes. Link to comment
Rajahal
8 onboard SATA slots + 7 PCI-E slots (assuming 4 SATA slots per card) = 36 full speed SATA slots! 2 of the 8 onboard SATA slots are even SATA III, so your parity drive and cache drive could twice as fast. Is there a 'drool' emoticon? Link to comment
VampyreGTX
what?! only 4 port sata cards?! puh-lease! Wait till SAS support is in unRaid, through in an 8-port internal SAS card... 64 full speed sata slots!!!!! through in some 2Tb drives, 128 TB of space!!!!!!! though parity will take about a year to complete so you'll only get to use your media 1 day out of the year...... Chris Pollard
load up the slots with CUDA cards and you've got your very own supercomputer... shame the slots aren't double width apart really most of the fastest cards seem to be double width. Added bonus you'll no longer need heating in the winter... Link to comment
