OPABrawl
First time using unRAID, was/am very excited about it! I had a Windows 10 VM up and working (along with a Solus VM) for a couple days, but then tragedy struck. It froze at one point while in use, and now after power cycling the server, changing the CPUs from 6 to 4 to 1, taking off all the USB attached devices, my virtual machines always pause on startup (best so far is just past the login screen). I am at a loss as to how to try and combat this issue. I've attached full dianostics and below is my XML as well as the log from the Windows 10 box: <domain type='kvm' id='12'> <name>Windows 10</name> <uuid>4996dd51-11bb-93ea-b056-82bb26006f87</uuid> jonp
From reviewing your logs, there is nothing glaring at me as a problem. Sounds like something went wrong inside the guests. Are neither of your VMs working at this point? When you say "it froze at one point" do you mean one of your VMs or the host? What did you do to resolve? If both VMs were running and the entire system locked up and you did a hard reset, that has potential to cause problems, but it's pretty rare. If you completely strip the VMs of all device assignments (including graphics / sound), do they still lock up during boot? Do only the VMs lock up or does the entire host? Please provide more info. OPABrawl
Neither VM was working. The windows VM had froze so I did a force stop from unRAID. After that point it refused to boot without pausing. Completely stripping still caused the pause, the VM always pauses but the server is fine. I have since deleted both VMs and am in the process of reinstalling 10. I followed Jon Panozzo's (your?) YouTube guide for settings inside the machine and am doing windows updates now to get to anniversary edition so I can install my graphics drivers. So far no issues. If you don't see any logging that points to a problem, hopefully it was a problem with the VM and a fresh build will solve the issue. Link to comment
OPABrawl
Was able to get through all the installations, all the windows updates, and use the machine for a few hours. I left it on overnight, however, and disaster struck once again: ehci warning: guest updated active qTD ehci warning: guest updated active qTD ehci warning: guest updated active qTD ehci warning: guest updated active qTD ehci warning: guest updated active qTD ehci warning: guest updated active qTD 2016-09-23T15:41:55.049124Z qemu-system-x86_64: terminating on signal 15 from pid 2984 2016-09-23 15:41:57.450+0000: shutting down I'm not sure what this means, especially since I was asleep at the time, but any insight would be greatly apreciated. MKS
@OPABrawl Did you find a workaround? Seems like I have a similar issue. Only I dont even get past the installation window, crashed immediately after starting it up. Link to comment
OPABrawl
My issue was related to memory and disk space. For me, I just had to allot more disk space to the VM Link to comment
MKS
Great, I will try and see if that works for me. Thanks for the reply Link to comment
