September 24, 20169 yr Can anyone help me set up owncloud via mariadb. I have successfully installed owncloud docker using the SQLite engine but it is too slow when you hammer it. Apparently Mariadb will fix the issue, but I can't get my head around making it work with docker. I am using unraid 6.2.
September 24, 20169 yr Read the guide I did here. https://www.linuxserver.io/index.php/2016/07/28/installing-nextcloud-on-unraid/ Owncloud and Nextcloud are pretty much the same install process. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
September 25, 20169 yr Author Still no go. Can you steer me to a mariadb container and either a nextcloud or owncloud container that will work with each other? I have currently tried to use a combination from the community apps without success. the mariadb container from "linuxserver" crashes sql workbench when I try to connect. The one from needo doesn't, but I get a "can't connect to database" error in all cases when I try to configure either owncloud or nextcloud. Does limetech remote support support these issues or are they strictly UNRAID?
September 25, 20169 yr Afaik mysql workbench isn't compatible with the latest version of mariadb. I would recommend a different tool. I know the ls.io one works as does the walkthrough I've written, but that is dependent on you changing your workflow with regards to mysql workbench. If that's not an option then I can't be of any help I'm afraid. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
September 25, 20169 yr Author I'm starting at the bottom in relation to dockers. I'll give ls.io a go. I think I need to go 2 steps back. I need to load the correct docker images which will satisfy your walkthrough. But I'm not sure where to find them and how to add them to Unraid. Once I've got the correct containers, I think everything will fall into place. Can you steer me in the right direction. Sorry to be naïve about all this..
September 25, 20169 yr Install Community Applications plugin and it should make life a lot easier... Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
September 26, 20169 yr Author Getting there. My first mistake was I missed removing the comment in line 118 the first time. And I've now worked out that the modules in your repo are the ones in the CA under Linuxserver.io. Still failed the nextcloud last night. Going to have another go in a minute. It gave an error about not liking the username or password or something. It was very late when I gave up last night. Will take more notice on the next attempt.
September 26, 20169 yr Author Hmmm Tried all I could think of to get nextcloud to connect to Mariadb. Loaded MYSQL and it appears to have worked. Absolutely no idea why.....
September 26, 20169 yr Author Thankyou CHBMB for your guidance. I now have Nextcloud working into MYSQL. Performance is quite good. Next step is to get a better understanding of how it all fits together.
