Audio Issues with Linux Mint based VM

Hello, being relatively new to all this, I've been getting garbled audio when trying to get HDMI audio out through my GPU.

 

Currently, the system has an NVIDIA GTX 660ti to run this VM.

Running Linux Mint

2 cores with hyperthreading

2GB RAM

 

Overall specs are:

Intel Xeon E3-1245 V5

16gb ECC unbuffered RAM

Asus P10S-WS Motherboard.

Asus GTX 660ti

Any help to get this audio to normal would be amazing, I plan on using this VM for a steam in-home streaming and other things hooked up to a TV.

I am actually having some issues with this as well. Bit of a warning I am not an expert in either VMs or Linux so I'm kind of trudging the waters so to speak.

 

I was able to use the MSI fix for a Windows VM however I'm also trying to make the jump to Linux and the guide does not seem to take Linux in mind. MSI seems to be enabled by default using Nvidia drivers on Linux however there are still issues with sound. I'd wager it has something to do with specific audio pass-through issues. I've also experienced issues using a USB audio device so I am more inclined to think we can fix it on the VM rather than through BIOS tinkering as some other posts have suggested. I don't really have another option either since I'm running this whole setup on an ITX board with no way to get more PCI/USB options.

 

Edit: On second thought, I generally don't know how to modify/enable MSI on a linux machine. The 'lspci' command to determine MSI enabled +/- is set to '-' or 'no' for the audio.
