November 7, 20169 yr Since upgrading yesterday my disks haven't spun down as they usually do after 15 minutes of inactivity. I can see commands to spin them down in the log, but today for example the last spin down command was over 2 hrs ago and there is nothing using the server that would keep them from spinning down that I can think of. Diags attached. tower-diagnostics-20161107-1327.zip
November 7, 20169 yr Remember that there's a global setting for spin down delay (Settings -> Disk settings) and also an individual setting for each disk. It might be worth changing the settings (to, say 1 hour) and then changing them back again to make sure they stick.
November 7, 20169 yr Author I could do that, just strange though that they have worked fine with the settings the way they are for over a year, and no all of a sudden they aren't spinning down. I did add a docker plexpy recently, could that cause the disks to not spin down if its running all the time?
November 7, 20169 yr I have a plex docker but have no experience of plexpy. If it keeps accessing files on the array it will prevent the disks from spinning down, of course. You might want to check that its appdata is not accidentally on the array, too.
November 7, 20169 yr Author So I stopped the Plexpy docker and sure enough, my drives spun down, so I guess I have my answer.
November 7, 20169 yr I have PlexPy and my disks all spin down. Are your dockers on the array or cache? If on array, that is why it won't spin down. If on cache - I had a weird thing after upgrade to 6.2.3 that affected both Plex & PlexPy where any updates attempted to the docker container (update or even just a restart) would cause the whole array to have to spin up. Maybe yours is related? Long shot but simple enough to test (and report if it works) http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=53340.msg513259#msg513259
