Hi,

I've gotten this warning from my UnRaid Box and would appreciate help on how to resolve:

Please see attached picture.

What part of the suggested fixes are you having trouble with?

Hi Trurl,

All of them.  I have both Apple & apple and really haven't figured out how to combine them.  Midnight Commander ????

Also the appdata cache only, but files/folders exist on the array??>

mc would be the easy way (or the dolphin / krusader docker apps).  Move the contents of one of them into the other, and then delete.  But, as I recall one of your older posts stated that it kept on coming back, so you've got to investigate which plugin / docker app is creating the other folder and fix it.  BTW, I have no idea if the same name but in a different case affects AFP or not.  I do know that it really throws SMB for a loop with strange results happening depending upon what phase the moon is currently in.

This is easy to fix.  Set the appdata share from "cache only" to be "cache prefer", stop the docker service, and then run the mover from the main tab.  That error should get fixed after mover is finished.

Thanks Squid,

I've tried MC but keep cycling through various commands and still not finding a way to move Apple (share) into apple (share).  My intent was to create perhaps a name change is more appropriate my M4V movies that can be seen by my Apple TV and Plex under "Apple" vs Movies which still contains my TS-VOB files that need to be converted.

I think my confusion and perhaps UnRaid's where Apple/apple is concerned is in the Appdata construct.

Any thoughts or directions would be valuable.  I could simply remove my Plex Docker etc. and start over if that is the easiest.  My Plex is still not working properly anyway.

mc drives me nuts also (and I just can't be bothered to learn it properly).  If I had this problem, then I would install the dolphin docker app and do it via something that actually operates the way computers are *supposed* to work nowadays rather than a throwback to how they operated 20 years ago.  IE: a GUI.

With dolphin, navigate to ROOT, then select /mnt/user/apple.  Highlight everything in there (CTRL-A), right click, cut, then go to /mnt/user/Apple and paste it there.  Why aggravate yourself more than necessary.

Not quite sure what you mean by the appdata construct, and then talking about plex.  Does the plex template reference both apple and Apple?

Oh yeah, and if you do use dolphin, then don't close or minimize the progress window that pops up.  If you do, then the moving will still continue, but you have no way of knowing when its actually done, and there's no way to reopen the popup  :o

I looked at Dolphin but it also required a few Docker Settings that left me "puzzled".  Remember I'm not too swift at this "new fangled stuff" which is probably why my Plex and CrashPlan fail to work.

When I went to the support tab in Dolphin, I just got more confused, so I didn't load it.

As for the appdata "construct" it seems that most of the Dockers want things stored in appdata - mnt/user/appdata/xyz-docker-name or am I missing the whole point of things?

I think that may be where my Apple/apple issue may reside vs the Apple Share (with my M4V/MKV converted Movies).

Dolphin is easy...  Add it via CA;  The only thing you need to set is the host port.  (It's blank on the template.  Set it to something like 9999.  After Adding The Container, and the download is finished, wait about a minute, then go to the webUI for it via unRaid's dashboard.  Hit OK on the initial screen that's asking you to log in to Dolphin, then you'll get a file browser up.  Go to ROOT on the left then mnt.  Then user.  From there on it's just like Windows.  Highlight, copy, paste, etc.

Appdata:  All of the config files are stored within appdata.  All of your media files are stored elsewhere.  Appdata isn't your issue, because that's a single share, and FCP is complaining about 2 other shares (Apple & apple)

Probably the best thing to do is to post a screen shot of the Docker Tab.  It'll have all of the volumes listed on it for each container, so we can go from there.  Might be best to do this before hitting Dolphin so we can stop the apps from messing this up again after we fix it via Dolphin

Here is a Docker pic & while at it a problem with my MakeMKV-RDP Docker that I tried to update just now.

If its a docker application that's created the Apple/apple problem, then its Crashplan.  You would have to check within the UI for Crashplan to make sure nothing is going there.  Or maybe you inadvertently created the extra share yourself (via a command line or something?, or its a plugin that created it)  If you can't find what caused it, then just go ahead and use dolphin to fix it, and then we'll see if it comes back.

Why Plex doesn't work is because it doesn't have access to any of the shares on the system at all.  You need to add another path of /mnt mapped to /mnt.  Then within Plex add media to a library from /mnt/user/whateverShare.  Similar issue with MakeMKV.  Everything it creates would wind up within the docker.img file, or within the appdata share (depending upon how you configure it), but either way it has no way to read any of your pre-existing media

The images don't match manifest is a onetime issue caused by changes at dockerHub, and needs to be fixed by doing this: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=40937.msg481138#msg481138

Squid, I owe you a "case of beer"!  :-X but I still have problems with configuring my Dockers.  I'm beginning to think I have a Phobia!  Even after reading and trying to copy standard settings, I manage to screw things up.

Anyway, thought I would post some of the changes that I made followed by "failures".

By the way, CrashPlan is on my Tower and on my Backup Server.  Do I need it on both?  I tried to set it up to "backup" Tower (important stuff) to the old UnRaid (now Backup Server) and it worked briefly when we were still using the desktop app, but with the update using only the Docker Gui interface, its failed.  If I remove it from Tower, that might also cure my Apple/apple issue, though I'm sure I will have to use Dolphin to remove the older stuff.

Thanks again for multiple responses!  You're my GURU  ;)!

Dave

PS - When I changed the Plex config it failed and was eliminated, but when I changed the MKV it accepted but then won't update??????????????????????????????

No idea.  Don't use CrashPlan at all.  But from occasionally reading the thread, I think it only needs to be on one.  Could be out to lunch though.  (And unless you've set the backup destination or something within CrashPlan to be /mnt/user/apple (or Apple) then its not the cause.  I think that we fix the dockers, use dolphin to combine the two shares (and delete the improper one), and then see what happens.

You've set the container path to be Movies, but it should be /Movies

, but when I changed the MKV it accepted but then won't update??????????????????????????????

You still need to follow that link to fix the layers from manifest error.

Hi again Squid,

Well I removed CrashPlan from my Tower (main Server) and we'll see where that goes.

I started Dolphin and was able to delete apple/m4v-mkv (blank) while retaining Apple/m4v-mkv (including all the movies listed).

When I looked in my Appdata folder it showed 2 different Plexmedia server setups or ???

I then went to settings and "turned off" dockers, then back on but still have the same update problem with MakeMKV - it still fails to update - layers from manifest don't match image configuration.

Do I need to turn it off or remove the img (where) and/or reboot the server?  UnRaid also wants a reboot to update to 6.2.4.

Sorry for all my dilemma(s)!  :'(

Dave

Yeah, you need to delete the docker.img and then re-add the apps via CA's previous apps section.

Hello Squid,

Some slight success, maybe  ;).  I was able to get a "new" Docker.img and use CA Previous Apps to reinstall Dolphin/Plex (see below)/MakeMKV.

MakeMKV-RDP sort of works, it at least updated and when I tried I got a couple of issues (probably my paths or variables are missing).  I started it up then stopped, but it sort of shows how I got to my older movies and where it wants to store ??? the MKV version.

Plex is the same old thing, doesn't find my Movies or Server.  I did not try to update the Plex settings (inside Plex) but I thought it would see the Share Apple (where the M4V-MKV movies reside).

When I looked in my AppData folder I found 2 copies of CrashPlan and 2 copies of PlexMedia Server listed (though both of the Plex versions appear identical - again 1 Plex & 1 plex).  However in Dolphin only 1 each exists.

Finally Fix CA still says I have a problem with AppData Data & Shares existing on the Server.

I really appreciate your time and expertise.  Ultimately I hope to get this straight and learn more but my brain is failing me now. :-*

See attachments.

And the other Attachment re:Appdata from within UnRaid

Winthin_Appdata.png.48680a8c14fd9f90d984cb257dd8e0b5.png

Reboot, and then look at what unRaid says exists again.

plexmediaserver being in there twice should be impossible (unless there's a space after one of them in the folder name)

CrashPlan vs crashplan.  Possibly existed before, but FCP doesn't catch that unless it does the extended tests (as its not a share)

Plex not seeing the movies.  If you have /mnt mapped to /mnt, then you've got to add /mnt/user/Apple to the plex library.  What I see is that you don't have that /mnt <--> /mnt mapping done in the template.

Post the screen shot of the docker tab again after you reboot

Update:

I've rebooted and have a copy of the FCP for your review along with a copy of my Docker's settings.

I tried Plex to see if it could see my Server - no and w/o seeing it I can't create any linkages to my Movies in Apple.

I still have 2 Crash/crashplans and 2 Plex/plex(s).  Should I totally remove Plex and attempt to start over?  Not sure what my actual settings should be, but if I remove everything then go to Dolphin and delete both Plex(s) (or manually via Finder) and the same for Crash/crashplan(s) then maybe everything will get cleaned up.

FCP still shows an error re: Data/Shares

That I'm not sure about.  I know that there was a couple of posts in the various Plex threads here about that, but I don't use plex often, so you have to check that out there

Crashplan:  I'm going to guess that at some point previously, you've redone the template for Crashplan from scratch.  Since crashplan isn't currently installed, I can't tell which one that its supposed to be using for its config folder.  If you re-add it, and then switch it to Advanced view in the top right, and then hit Show Advanced Settings at the bottom, you'll see what the config folder it's supposed to be using.  Delete the other one.  You might need to use Dolphin to do that if you run into permission problems.

Plex:  Best guess is that there's a leading (or trailing) space on one of those seemingly identical folders.  If you try and rename one of them within Finder, then you should be able to determine which has a space.  Delete that one.

FCP still shows an error re: Data/Shares

This is an easy one.  Go to settings, docker settings, and disable docker.  Switch the appdata share on the share setting from use cache:only to use cache:prefer  Then on the Main tab run mover.

All remnants of the appdata share will get moved to the cache drive.  Then re-enable Docker

Hi Squid,

Success (sorta)  ;).  I now have no errors on Reboot or in FCP.

It took multiple attempts to delete both versions of CrashPlan and Plex even to the extent of deleting one through Win7 (Parallels) and another through Dolphin followed by the CA Cleanup Appdata plugin.

I do see a new 0 byte folder .Trash-99 that I'd like to remove, but haven't discovered out how as it seems to be blocked for permissions everywhere.

At the moment, I'm checking Parity especially after all the system changes.  It will probably take all night and maybe tomorrow too.

I need to try and restore my Plex, but will wait until the Parity Check completes then tackle that problem next.  Everything I've tried short of pulling out my hair (what's left) has thus far failed on that front, but that's another chapter!

Thanks so much for your help and patience, you've been a godsend!  Happy Holidays (though Canadians don't celebrate Thanksgiving like we do)!

The Beer is on ME  :D

Dave
