March 11, 20179 yr I tried searching the forum, but I wasn't coming up with much. Is anyone using this board? Pross/cons? If running dual xeons will I need ECC memory? This will be my first unraid build. Looking at this board and 3 of the H310 cards for the drives.
March 11, 20179 yr I'm running the Z9PE-D8 board without problems. ECC is not needed for running xeons in the Z10 board as far as I know. I think I saw someone mention this motherboard somewhere here, but don't remember where.

I am looking to build a new system with the Z10PE..still an EEB form factor though. I was looking at the Fractal Design Define XL R2 case. It doesn't say it supports an EEB board however the Puget systems Genesis II utilises the Z10PE-D8 in a Fractal Design Define XL R2. Maybe by XL-ATX they mean EEB?
March 14, 20179 yr I'm using the corsair obsidian 750d. I can't remember if it supports EEB or I just used the E-ATX holes. It's only two holes not lining up. I'll check in the evening when I get home. The specs on the obsidian page doesn't say EEB.
March 15, 20179 yr I have heard that with a few cases. Personally I often don't utilise all the mounts on my boards.
March 15, 20179 yr Forgot to check when I got home, but google said that it doesn't have all the holes, so I trust that

By and large all the holes are used for grounding of the various components on the motherboard. If at all possible you should always endeavor to use them all. Stability of the system will only ever go up...
