March 14, 20179 yr Hi, I am failry computer literate, but a relative noob at programming. I have a stable system for 6.1.9 (ive had the system for years, good recent parity check and good 'fix common problems'). I tried upgrading via the web gui to 6.3.2 and it failed (unstable system, doesn't appear to actually finish the install or start the array, no gui, etc). I've scoured the forums for advice. Same happens (failure, unstable system) when I just replace the bzimage, bzroot, and bzroot-gui from 6.2.4 or 6.3.1 or 6.3.2 onto my stable flash drive that was running 6.1.9. I tried starting in safe mode after updating, same problem. I tried just booting a clean 6.3.2 with my config files (minus go and syslinux) and same problem. I have attached my diagnostics report from 6.1.9. I have attached screen shots of terminal of the the end of the 6.3.2 install. I can't run a diagnostics or capture my syslog from terminal after upgrading (nothing happens). I appreciate any help getting my system upgraded. thank you. jedi-diagnostics-20170314-1135 (6.1 good fix good parity).zip
May 6, 20179 yr Author Update. I tried installing 6.3.3 (after clean parity check and clean shutdown/reboot). Same problem. Any recommendations? Thanks
May 6, 20179 yr Try the update again, then reboot into SAFE mode and see if that at least works (its an option on the local monitor)
May 6, 20179 yr Author Interesting. SAFE mode worked this time. OK, cool. So what do you recommend next? nope. same problem as before (see pics from original post). server reports it updated to 6.3.3, but if I try logging in and running "diagnostics", it doesn't seem to work. (this is all from the local monitor, as there is no LAN connection). Edited May 6, 20179 yr by vader2k update to post
May 6, 20179 yr Its a plugin thing then... Post your diagnostics (You're previous one posted had the syslog empty) And we'll see what plugins are present that are messing things up. Edited May 6, 20179 yr by Squid
May 6, 20179 yr Author sorry, corrected my last post. i do not believe the update worked. i just rebooted and ran a fresh diagnostics. diagnostics-20170506-0848 (6.1 good parity clean reboot).zip
May 6, 20179 yr What happens if you take a different flash drive and set it up as 6.3.3 from scratch?
May 6, 20179 yr Author Hmm. So I have not tried a new flash drive yet. I have tried completely re-formatting the current FD, and installing previous versions using the web downloads. 6.2 and 6.3 don't work.
May 7, 20179 yr Seems like a good question for @johnnie.black. It almost seems that the unRaid bzimage is corrupt or not unpacking properly into ram.
