Netatalk and spotlight search

Featured Replies

Do we have support for spotlight searching turned on for AFP? I know from version 3.1.0 Netatalk includes support for  Spotlight.

But i don't seem to be able to get any of my mounted drives to work using mdutil

Right, no Spotlight support is currently built-in to unRAID, mainly because we don't include "Gnome Tracker".  Here are my notes on the subject:

netatalk includes spotlight support but it requires adding a utility called "Gnome Tracker":

Since we are deprecating afp support this might be a problem except that spotlight support is available in Samba:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Spotlight

Still uses Gnome Tracker.  But refer to the netatalk discussion on Limitations and notes.

Here's info on Gnome Tracker:
https://github.com/GNOME/tracker

The 'system' share would be the natural place to keep the database I suppose.

I am going to move this topic to Feature Requests.

I haven't seen it mentioned in the release notes, though I wasn't particularly looking for it. Have you tried looking there?

Still not in the release note of the latest version.

But it's sill in the wanted features, so maybe it will come in one of the future releases, well i hope.

This would be very useful for me when using my mac.

Is this feature being worked on?

Can we except this feature in the next version, maybe 6.7 or 7.x ?

Has this feature been added in the latest version?
