April 15, 201016 yr well i just got my pro keys and i enabled the cache drive and reading through the unmenu packages i decided to install the swapfile on the cache drive per the recommendations in the text describing it.. but when i try to shutdown the array it just sits there unmounting the cache drive then eventually the web interfaces stop working and you have to console into the server to reboot it. any reason this is happening? thanks James syslog.txt
April 15, 201016 yr swapoff has to be executed first. This free's up the swapfile that is on the cache drive. Unless you used a swap partition, then that is not the issue.

April 15, 201016 yr swapoff -a should do the trick.. thanks i will give that a shot... There is a button on the unMENU user-scripts page that should allow you to disable the Swap-File. Joe L.

April 15, 201016 yr Depends on what addons your running.. I am running no swapfile with 2GB and have a few addons.. YMMV
April 15, 201016 yr Depends on what addons your running.. I am running no swapfile with 2GB and have a few addons.. YMMV I've almost never had a swap file, and I run in 512 Meg of ram. I added one for when I'm compiling other programs just to make sure I did not run out of memory. I can tell you one thing for sure, don't try to install the Java Development Kit on 512 Meg of ram. I run out of ram even with my 128 meg swapfile, so I'm guessing you need at least a Gig or more. Joe L.
