August 11, 20178 yr Hello I have a problem when i add a new drive to the pool. When i choose SPLIT LEVEL > MANUAL: DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT DIRECTORIES i only get the free space of the other drives on the pool and not the free space of the new disk. Since that i move my files from an old server, i would like to know where the files are copying, in what drive because i have order them chronological. The user share contains ALL the disks because i need to see the as one big drive. the process is the following: 1) unplug the drive from the OLD server 2) plug the drive in unRAID 3) Preclear the drive 4) Start copying files from the OLD server until i free up a drive to the OLD server. 5) repeat the 1 step I choose ALLOCATION METHOD: MOST FREE but when i choose SPLIT LEVEL > MANUAL: DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT DIRECTORIES i don't get the free space of the new drive on my SHARE folder When i turn it to AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT ANY DIRECTORY AS REQUIRE it works fine! One solution that i found is to let the SPLIT LEVEL > AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT ANY DIRECTORY AS REQUIRE until i maxed the disk capacity, and then change it to SPLIT LEVEL > MANUAL: DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT DIRECTORIES What are the correct step to have the SPLIT LEVEL > MANUAL: DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT DIRECTORIES from the start? August 11, 20178 yr Community Expert I believe there is a bug in the current release (fixed for the next one) where a disk is not included in the free space calculation until the top level folder for the share has been created on that disk.
