By the end of 2020, i hope that i could found and built my new server on a fractal define 7XL Capable for 18 drives without modifications. For those that they dont have a basement or room to store a noisy 24 bay rack server, it may be a nice solution.

thanks for the info! i would like to share more than one ip with a NFS SHARES? my settings are: Security: Private Rule: 10.0.0.100(sec=sys,rw) that works for one ip. but how can i put two or more? the below rule unfortunatly doesn't work. Hello! im looking a case for my new unraid built. Right now i have 8 Disks (6 data, 2 parity) and every year, i would add another 1 disk. maybe later i will move to bigger disks.. Im looking for a case that can take at least 10 disks (ideal 12-15 disks, in any placement 5,25, 3in5 cage etc) looks good (simple lines) and not so nosy. An ideal case may be the Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 rev.b but its way too expensive (220€+) and way too HUGE! I dont need the 3in5 cages, because is expensive and i don't need to swap drives, only when a disk dies. Im aware about the Fractal design R5 and the Define XL R2 but both cases are 4 years+ old, and my guess is that in the next months, they will release new models. if anyone has any info about release days, please share it here. But i would like other options and alternatives, could you please recommend me some other cases? Budget ~180€.. (for 220€ i can take the huge Deep Silence 6 rev.) thank you!

Could you please mention the model of the icy dock that you use? i wonder if i can mount 3 x RaidSonic ICY BOX IB-565SSK in the front of a Fractal design R2 XL and also use those front fans? or its a stupid question? i have Fractal design Define R3 and I'm very satisfied with that case but i would like the ease of those cages like the ICY BOX IB-565SSK.

after those months of using it, did you notice some problems? what about the temperates of the disks? is it noisy? I'm thinking the same built, any suggestions are more than welcome. thanks

i thought that the most common fan for for all cages is 80mm... what the other cages use? 100, 120 mm?

ICY BOX IB-565SSK they look good... wonder if they are solid, quiet and if they worth 120€.. does anyone try them? thanks

Hello I have a APC smart UPS connected through USB to my synology nas and i will like also to connect my unRAID. Could you please help me to set it up correctly, and in the case of power failure, i need the unraid to close safely and then shut down the synology nas if the battery is drained. the unraid ip will be 192.168.1.200 thanks
