January 1, 20188 yr I recovered data from cache drive 99.99 percent of it, all but about 7 files, one of which was docker.img file. It was recovered onto an ntfs drive in windows with a data revovery program. Can i just disable dockers, install the cache drive and start copying the data back onto the cache? I had several dockers which had their data stored on the cache. Will i have problems with permissions once copied back etc. My linux knowledge is not that great. Here is previous thread with no answers (ps never did figure out what to call the cache drive for the disk repair command)

It's nothing to recreate easily, and stores no real information. Everything of importance is in the appdata 5 hours ago, FrozenGamer said: Will i have problems with permissions once copied back etc. Short answer is maybe. All depends upon the application itself, how your recovery tool handled symlinks, etc. Basically try and see. Going forward though, you might want to look at CA Appdata Backup/Restore to periodically make backups of your appdata share for circumstances like this
January 1, 20188 yr Author Thanks Squid. I had appdata plug in, but don't believe it had made any backups.
January 2, 20188 yr Author Can i move one directory over at a time and test each one, ie try deluge first, then sabnzbd, then sonarr, etc, saving plex for last since its gonna be a huge one. Or should i just copy it all over and see what happens. I assume disabling mover and copying to cache will be the way to do it under the "appdata" folder. It is copying from a windows machine to unraid share using windows explorer at this point unless advised otherwise.
January 2, 20188 yr I'd copy it all over and then test one Docker at a time. I'd copy using Midnight Commander (mc from command line).
