tritium6
What's the difference between the 4220 and the 4224? Link to comment
bubbaQ
What's the difference between the 4220 and the 4224? 4 drive bays.... some cosmetics. Maybe a 120mm fan plate. Link to comment
mifronte
I contacted Norco in CA regarding the 4224 and was told that it is at least two months away. The 4220 is fine for me if it came with the 120mm fan plate. What to do? My build is now just waiting on the case and some reverse breakout cables. Link to comment

levster
That's what they've been saying since February. That is exactly why I pulled the trigger this time around. You can always wait for the next biggest and greatest, and there will always be one around the corner. That way you will never get what you are looking for. Link to comment

A piece of plywood and a 5" hole saw and you're good to go. And just go ahead and get 2x the 8 port APC-SASLP-MV8 with cables... Link to comment
levster
Make sure that you realize that the cables will need to be a little longer than for a regular case. The case is "long" and the motherboard sits far from the HD bays. Also, the SASLP-MV8 are short cards. All in all, get something that will reach. I learned the lesson the hard way - I got a couple that were too short. I bought a $7 piece of air-conditioning duct and cut out my own fan plate. It is not as sturdy as the original, but after a few hours of work - it did the trick. Three 120mm fans live happily together! Link to comment
mifronte
Is 19.5" cables long enough? These are the Norco reverse breakout cables for the Supermicro SAT2-MV8 cards. Link to comment

I bought 12" SAS cables, to try minimize on slack and improve on air flow, only to be about 4" short. While trying to route the cables you lose the length. Link to comment
