ok figured as much, ty.

unRAID reads the GUID for you - nothing complicated - and it's visible in the web based UI if you need it.  There's no real benefit in using an m.2 drive over a USB stick anyway since after initial start up (which is pretty quick) the system runs out of RAM, and the USB flash is mostly then used for configuration data.
