calorim
Hello everyone! I am new to unraid and my one buddy has helped me setup my server. However, this is now the second time in a week the /var/log file is 100% used. Last time I just restarted the server, but I would like some help with this. Please keep in mind that I am new to unraid and not really that familiar with all the settings and tools. JorgeB
Several ATA errors resulting in the cache SSD being disabled, probably a bad cable: Quote Feb 2 03:54:11 Tower kernel: ata6.00: cmd 61/18:f0:e0:bb:f3/06:00:16:00:00/40 tag 30 ncq dma 798720 out Feb 2 03:54:11 Tower kernel: res 40/00:01:00:4f:c2/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) Feb 2 03:54:11 Tower kernel: ata6.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 2 03:54:11 Tower kernel: ata6: hard resetting link Feb 2 03:54:16 Tower kernel: ata6: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) Feb 2 03:54:21 Tower kernel: ata6: COMRESET failed (errno=-16) Feb 2 03:54:21 Tower kernel: ata6: hard resetting link Feb 2 03:54:26 Tower kernel: ata6: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) Feb 2 03:54:31 Tower kernel: ata6: COMRESET failed (errno=-16) Feb 2 03:54:31 Tower kernel: ata6: hard resetting link Feb 2 03:54:36 Tower kernel: ata6: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) Feb 2 03:55:06 Tower kernel: ata6: COMRESET failed (errno=-16) Feb 2 03:55:06 Tower kernel: ata6: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps Feb 2 03:55:06 Tower kernel: ata6: hard resetting link Feb 2 03:55:11 Tower kernel: ata6: COMRESET failed (errno=-16) Feb 2 03:55:11 Tower kernel: ata6: reset failed, giving up Feb 2 03:55:11 Tower kernel: ata6.00: disabled Link to comment
calorim
Thanks so much for your help! I will replace the cable and see if i this fixes my issues. On another note, I do get warnings a lot that the SSD cache is hot 54C+. Could this also be causing the SSD to shut down or so to speak? Link to comment
JorgeB
Not likely, 54C is normal for SSDs after continuous writes. Link to comment
