SATA controller choking - need a little help with diagnostics

I noticed that all my disks were spinning physically in the server box, but the unraid gui indicated that they were spun down (but reporting a temperature).

Looking at grafana and then checking the logs for when they spun up, I find this:

I've read that apparently this means that the sata controller is choking, but I've never had this happen before until the upgrade to 6.4.1. Any idea what could be happening here and what I should be looking at or trying to fix?

Cheers
