  1. mishmash-'s post in MAC - Read/write share - can browse whole share but cannot open files, or copy to/from share was marked as the answer   
    I think this can be closed - it is not an unraid issue.
     
    The issue is with how a mac keeps open its authentication over long periods of time/sleep/disconnect/reconnect etc. A reboot (of the mac) solved the issue immediately.
