My SSD cache keeps "overheating" [Solved]

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm very new to this and not sure what's going on.  Whenever my server downloads a bunch of TV shows at once, I get temperature warnings.  But I check my disk temp and it's not hot.  What is going on?  Anything I need to setup properly?

Edited by Valerie

Are you talking about disk temp warnings on Dashboard or Notifications? Are you saying the temp is not as hot as the warning setting?

The default temp warnings are good for disks, but not for SSDs, you can use different values just for the SSD by clicking on it on the main page.

I just added one in my HP MIcroServer Gen8 and I'm also seeing that as well.   My temperature warning hits at 115F.   The drive is rated for 70c (158F).  How does UnRaid determine the default settings for the SSD drives?

Default value is the same for all devices, you can manually change the warning temp thresholds.

Sorry for going MIA on my own post. Thanks for all the responses. What the correct temps for SSD?

Depends on the model, but some can easily go up to 50/60C during heavy writes.
