GoudaK
Hi All, I am a first time unRAID (and frankly Linux) installer and user, as such my knowledge is quite limited. I am trying to get unRAID up and running for the first time, i have created a new USB thumb with version 6.5.0, its plugged into the internal USB directly on the motherboard. When i type http://tower/ into Chrome I only get the following: This site can’t be reached tower took too long to respond. Did you mean http://tower.com/? Search Google for tower ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT I am using a Dell Optiplex T410 as the hardware, I have removed the PERC raid card and currently am running an 120GB SSD (to be used as cache) 10tb HDD (to be used as parity, however did not show as a device in boot - I have not yet diagnosed this) and 8tb (first drive for the array) attached via SATA on the motherboard. The T410 is attached to my Cisco switch as with all of my devices, the lights are on both the switch and the T410. Basically this is as far as I've come... I've attached the log files created via the console. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Kel tower-diagnostics-20180315-1936.zip Link to comment

trurl
Still, it should work by name as well. Sometimes it takes a while to get other computers on the network to recognize it by name. Sometimes you have to go to some bit of trouble to get it to work. See this sticky: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/53172-windows-issues-with-unraid/ Link to comment
GoudaK
Thanks you for pointing me to that sticky, I will have a look and try and solve the problem. Now to try and understand why it will not find my drive... Link to comment
pwm
I recommend to edit the local hosts file and add the name to ip translation there. Link to comment
