May 9, 20188 yr Hello! I would like to run an Oracle pre build VM inside my Unraid. As the Image is quite small, I'd like to run it (prefered) on my cache disks. Oracle provides an .ovm file (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/databaseappdev-vm-161299.html?ssSourceSiteId=otnpt) which is then imported to Virtual Box. I'm not very expirienced with all the VM formats out there... could you guys be so kind and give me a hand? Thanks! P.S: running 6.5.0
May 14, 20188 yr Hi I found something on the topic on the internet, one was a tutorial for converting vmware to unraid. Another thing I found was supported formats for a function being used. You should be able to find a .vdi file from your virtualbox VM and use. qemu-img convert -f vdi -O raw input.vdi output.img I have not attempted to do this. This is only information I could find on the internet. There's a few unanswered Forum posts, I just feel like they shouldn't go unanswered. Attempting to help where I can Sources: 1. https://docs.openstack.org/image-guide/convert-images.html 2.https://www.agix.com.au/migrate-a-virtualbox-disk-image-vdi-to-a-qemu-image-img/ 3.
May 14, 20188 yr Community Expert The .vdi file does not need to be converted to use it with KVM as that file type is already supported at the KVM level. It is the unRAID GUI that does not provide a drop down list that includes .vdi files, but if you select the manual option and then put in the full path to the .vdi file you are good to go. I regularly use the .vdi vdisk type for those I want to move between KVM on unRAID and VirtualBox on other platforms.

That reads great and the Topic is still an Issue for me... What template shall I use or how to set up the VM besides the disk?...
