May 18, 20188 yr I have this: http://a.co/db8GNDb . Essentially it is the same -- other than mine having external power. My OCD doesn't like the fact that it would be 'loose'. As long as the USB port can supply steady power, it should be OK. (For a SSD drive?)
May 18, 20188 yr Author No; as the title states...this is for an Optical BD drive (5.25" Blu Ray). I see your solution, but I guess that's my question; why pay ~$20-some, as opposed to a couple of bucks...for the above cable (unless there's a reason)?
May 19, 20188 yr This is what I bought. I didn't like the idea of it being 'loose" either. Also my optical drives draw more power than I'm comfortable with off the USB port. Of course that could be a hold over from USB 2.0 since I haven't looked to see if USB 3.0 will support enough power either.
