el.pedriyo Posted June 25, 2018 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Hello, I am aware that Unraid stores data by filling disks 1 by 1, I mean, not in a stripping method. I wanted to know if is there any config or plan for unraid to make storages with any stripping method like the real RAID5 so that performance can be increased on read tasks for example in case we want it. JonathanM Posted June 25, 2018 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Not in the main array, but you are free to experiment with BTRFS RAID levels in the cache pool. It's RAID1 by default, but you can specify any valid BTRFS RAID profile. You could assign a single device to the first data slot, then populate the rest of your drives into the cache pool.
