August 23, 201015 yr Dunno if it's any good, but Office Depot offers the APC Back-UPS XS Series Battery Backup, BX1000G (1000VA/600 Watt) UPS (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/518058/APC-Back-UPS-XS-Series-Battery/?cm_mmc=Mercent-_-Shopzilla-_-Cables_Surge_and_Power_Protection-_-518058&mr:referralID=6bee3973-aed1-11df-bb45-001b2166bec9), model no. BX1000G, for $99.99. Pad your order over $100 to get free shipping, e.g. these binder tabs (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/574803/Office-Depot-Insertable-Dividers-With-Big/?cm_mmc=Mercent-_-Shopzilla-_-Binders_and_Accessories-_-574803&mr:referralID=90840d78-aed2-11df-b72b-001b2166c2c5) are 77 cents, and apply coupon code "90830301" to knock it to $79.99. FYI, you'll probably pay state tax though...
August 23, 201015 yr Compusa is seling this for $125.00. Your find is quite a savings (with tabs). The only thing I don't see is if it has the connection necessary to tell our RAID server's to shut down gracefully if power is lost. But again... the price looks quite good... even with tax.
August 23, 201015 yr Here's the product page: http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BX1000G It says it has a USB Data port and includes a USB cable and manual.
August 23, 201015 yr The only thing I don't see is if it has the connection necessary to tell our RAID server's to shut down gracefully if power is lost. It does. I haven't figured out how to do it master/slave style yet (for two servers) but I have one working.
August 23, 201015 yr Author As BRiT mentions, the product page shows a weird (to me at least ) female data connection on the back panel (i think it looks kind-of RJ-11-ish) that it lists as it's USB connection. I presume that there's a "normal" USB converter/cable included. Mine's supposed to come the 28th... I can update with details when I get it.
