August 7, 20187 yr I have change over from freenas to unraid but cannot seem to find out if I need to install a driver for this crad like in freenas "HighPoint RR2840A 16 Port PCIe SATA/SAS Raid Card" I cannot see drives connect to it in unraid.

August 7, 20187 yr There's no driver included in unRAID for that controller, note that RAID controllers are not recommend for unRAID (or FreeNAS), you want an HBA, but for that controller to work you'd need to make a feature request for LT to add the driver (if they can) to the next release.

I know it's dont recommend to use a raid card but this card can be use as a HBA as well,
May 13, 20197 yr I have been looking at getting this card myself too. From looking on the HighPoint website it says it can be used in JBOD/Non-RAID mode. Have you been able to get the card working with unRAID.
