August 28, 201015 yr So I forgot how long it takes to clear a large disk when added to the array. I got lazy and didn't pre-clear it. Is it possible to stop a normal disk clear when it's added to the array and fall back to preclear? (modified subject to make it more clear)

August 28, 201015 yr Author Exactly. I could possibly try to find the job and kill it. But I don't know if that would cause problems.
August 28, 201015 yr Author Meh....it's about 25% done now. I think I'll just ride it out this time and consider the lesson learned.
August 28, 201015 yr Yes you can stop an unRAID preclear. You need to use a root command prompt from telnet/ssh session, and issue the following: killall emhttp nohup /usr/local/sbin/emhttp 2>&1 & That will kill emhttp and then restart it. I'd try to stop any and all programs from using the array first.

My wife was not happy when the server was not on-line to play movies while it was clearing the disks...
