Plex doesnt work when copying files and parity check

Featured Replies

now I not sure if this is a coincendce or not

but unraid is parity checking 24tb of data

im currently copying 2.5TB of data to the unraid

and im trying to use Plex  but I cant  plex gives me multiple errors   unless I pause copying  then it will work

and im only have 1 network connection for the computer

is plex not working right because I have these 3 things going.. or is it because I need like 2 or 3 network cards to increase band with etc

but then you need a special switch for link agreession I read too

The parity checking tries to cram out all read capacity the drives can manage.

So anything else you do will result in one or more disks having to constantly seek between the parity read position and the read/write position of whatever you are doing.

If your writes then also happens to be to the same disk(s) that Plex needs, then you suddenly have three concurrent jobs fighting for the attention of the same drive.

Please head over to the feature requests subforum and wish for manual or automatic pause of parity checking when other tasks needs the disk capacity.
