Error in Log

Featured Replies

Hi there,

after setting up my new Unraid Server I get this error in the log every 30 minutes or so:

Sep 18 11:24:01 Tower kernel: 3w-sas: scsi1: ERROR: (0x03:0x0101): Invalid command opcode:opcode=0x4D.

Any idea what this means.

As far as I can see it is something with my 3ware raid controller. But I have no idea what this means.

Thanks

Benny

It's likely a problem getting the disks temps, since that's not a recommend controller, do disk temps appear on the main page?

Oh you are right - there are no temps on the main page. So can I turn this feature off for the disks attached to the controller?

Thanks

Settings -> Disk Settings -> Tunable (poll_attributes)

0 disables it.

Just keep in mind that besides temps Unraid won't be able to monitor SMART attributes for those disks, one of the reasons why it's recommended to use a supported HBA.

You can change the SMART controller type to every disk in the interface. In Main, click the link in the Device column (e.g. Disk 1, Disk 2 etc.).

In the Disk X Settings tab, you will see a SMART Settings section. There you will find the SMART controller type setting that need to be configured with information you can retrieve by reading this.
