njrwc
I'm new to unraid, so please forgive me if it's a noob question, but... /flash is "WIDE" open---how do we secure it? (I wouldn't want somebody to put rm -r / in my go script!) Would it just be doing via chmod? Or will that mess up installing packages? Also--is there any way to hide 'disk1', 'disk2' etc from windows and only show the user shares? Thanks rwc Quote Link to comment
jazzysmooth
Go to the Shares tab in the Unraid menu. From there you can change both the Flash and disk shares to not be exported, or read only, or hidden read only, etc. Quote Link to comment
mcs
The unRAID setting page provides the controls you need: Set : Flash share (SMB): to set the visibility/read/write permissions on the flash Set : Disk shares (SMB): to set the visibility/read/write permissions of the disk shares Quote Link to comment
kizer
You can set it to hidden and still access it if you need to by \\tower\flash because you know the path via command line in windows or whatever you choose to use. I however always turn it off. Hidden\read only because I can turn it on when I need to via the http:// connection. Quote Link to comment

Joe L.
I am on 5.0-beta2 and cannot find the controls to set the Flash share export or security mode settings. help? thanks, Leighton. It is a missing link in 5.0-beta2. You can get to the flash settings page by typing: http://tower/Settings/Flash?name=flash should be corrected in next version. Was reported long ago. kilobit
Apparently you can do the same with the disk shares to disable exporting them. http://tower/Settings/Flash?name=disk1 It seems to be working but why on earth is this not in the menu. Quote Link to comment
N3MIS15
i changed mine by going thru the main page, selecting the disk and changing smb settings.. seems to be different than the page posted by Joe L. but still does the same thing. EDIT: just noticed this page is OLD..... nevermind me Quote Link to comment
