gsd2012
I have searched the forum for this answer and the FAQ too. When you are building the UnRAID and it is time to format the drives which is the best to use? I see the choice of Reiserfs and others, but what is the best for saying using an application like Plex? I have been using the Reiserfs since I built mine many years ago but I feel that may not have been the best approach so I am asking the experts here on suggestions.... Thanks ahead! Link to comment
John_M
ReiserFS is included for backwards compatibility. It is no longer being developed and is not recommended for use going forward. That leaves a choice of either XFS or BTRFS. If you want the extra features that BTRFS offers then use it, otherwise you'll probably be better off with the default, XFS, which has been around for a bit longer and tends to be easier to repair, in the case of file system corruption. gsd2012
John_M, Thanks that is exactly what I was looking for I just didn't know what was better between the two. I think XFS would be best for a large Plex Media Server then. v/r, Greg Link to comment
