VM & Dockers disappeared after upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently updated to 6.6.7 from 6.6.6 and after the reboot my docker and VM tabs are empty. The first thing I have to admit is this update I applied the update but didn't restart unraid for a couple of days (got distracted during the update).

- I've checked the libvirt.img & docker.img files are both where they should be

- appdata is on the cache drive set to cache only

- No changes were made to the config before the update

I've got a backup from CA Backup but given everything appears to be working I didn't just want to start restoring and overwriting files.

i don't see anything obvious. The main reason I decided to comment is because I'm not entirely sure what you would have in this scenario.

The update is applied to the flash drive, but until you reboot, that update isn't loaded.

So you ran for a while with one version running and a newer version on the flash. And I would expect that to be fine since there isn't any changes to the config files from one version to the next anyway. What I'm unsure about is what would be the state of that backup you say you have. I assume it would have the new version on it if it was backed up after the update, in which case the previous version would be in the previous folder on flash and in the backup.

If no one gives you a better answer this will fix it. if you reinstall the dockers if you used apps the settings will be pulled from appdata if they are still there and for the vms make a new vm and manually select the img file the old one was on and it will boot like before if you setup the other settings the same no need to reinstall everything should be still there.

Thanks, I manually added back the Dockers and VM and everything came back as it had before. No idea what went wrong 🤷‍♂️
