nojstevens
Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows of a linux program that will install on unRAID to do the following.... I keep all my music in lossless FLAC format, but then would like to have an exact mirror in high quality mp3 for my iTunes/iPhone stuff. I would like the following /Music/FLAC /Music/iTunes Where iTunes is just a mp3 copy of the directory structure and files in FLAC. The program would convert any new FLAC files to mp3 and keep a one way sync of the folder. Is there anything like that for linux? Failing that, anyone know of anything like that for Windows or Mac that I could just keep pointed at the network share? Jon Link to comment
BRiT
I haven't done this, but I think having Linux installs of "flac", "lame", and "id3" will be useful. Here's a script which uses those three to do conversion: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Convert_Flac_to_Mp3 Link to comment
teejay
I've been trying to do exactly the same thing. I found http://mp3fs.sourceforge.net/ which looks promising but have yet to get it up and running in unRAID. I asked for help I asked for help on the forums (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=8490.0) but haven't gotten a response yet. Link to comment
foo_fighter
Oops, double post about mp3fs. If anyone has installed it, comments would be great. Link to comment
Orbi
I have all my music stored in FLAC as well. I use mediamonkey on my windows machine to syncronize all the songs to my iPod classic. When syncronizing, mediamonkey converts the songs from FLAC to MP3 on the fly, avoiding storage of unecessary MP3's. Link to comment
mbryanr
I use audacity... http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/linux Link to comment
coscarart
I tried to install mp3fs, but when I run ./configure it lets me know that I don't have FUSE installed. That is odd to me because I that user shares used FUSE to work... I think I will just run MediaMonkey on my laptop to mirror the two, but if it was automatic it would be nice... Link to comment

jonlai9
Sorry for bumping an old thread. Do any of the above allow live mirroring, ie., it will monitor my FLAC folder and automatically general MP3 files as FLAC files are added? Are there packages available? Thanks. Link to comment
