Drive Read Error

Featured Replies

I'm not too alarmed quite yet but I got a single read error yesterday on Disk 5 of my array. SMART doesn't seem to have recorded it. I ran both short and long SMART tests and both passed. Wanted to get an opinion b efore I really start worrying about dying drives or controllers.

It did here:

Error 1 [0] occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 22219 hours (925 days + 19 hours)
  When the command that caused the error occurred, the device was active or idle.

  After command completion occurred, registers were:
  ER -- ST COUNT LBA_48 LH LM LL DV DC
  -- -- -- == -- == == == -- -- -- -- --
  40 -- 51 04 00 00 00 e2 fd 34 90 40 00  Error: UNC at LBA = 0xe2fd3490 = 3808244880

And it was recorded as a media error, but since SMART test passed and all attributes look OK it's fine for now, just keep an eye on it.

Run an extended SMART test.

Also, you will have to reboot to get the error count in the webUI reset.
