January 28, 200818 yr Help, server is still rebooting. Any compatible network cards with one PCI Express x1 bus add-in card connector or with one PCI Express x16 bus add-in card connector? Could this work with Unraid? http://trendnet.com/en/products/TU2-ETG.htm
January 28, 200818 yr Found a PCI-X card, http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=406 Does anybody already use it in Unraid? It is quite pricey (100 USD). Better priced, a Gigabyte http://www.pcworld.com/product/pricing/prtprdid,8129919-sortby,retailer/pricing.html
January 31, 200818 yr Just took the plunge and bought the Edimax EN-9250TX-E Gigabit 10/1000 PCI-Express NIC card https://secure.scan.co.uk/Shop/ViewCart.ASP?SessionCheck=49271878 It is a PCI Express x1 slot compliant card.
February 5, 200818 yr Well, I am obviously not a lucky guy. The card above, the Edimax, was supposed to be supported by Linux. Maybe it is, but when I instert it in the PCIx1 slot and reboot, the drives do not mount. I can ping tower, I can see the flash via the network, so I know that there is a succesful network connection, but cannot see a webpage for tower or start the drives. Had to yank it and go back to the standard lan chip on the motherboard. Limetech HELP HELP HELP!
February 5, 200818 yr Via the console, type this command to copy the system log to the flash share: cp /var/log/syslog /boot/syslog.txt Then please send to me at [email protected] or post here.
February 5, 200818 yr Thanks limethech, I am sooooo loking forward not having to reboot my server manually
