SBP
I just set up my server to sleep using the Dynamix S3 Sleep plugin. After I wake up the server using a magic packet, the web UI and Samba are unresponsive but the server responds to ping. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Some hardware doesn't work well or at all with sleep, especially server grade stuff. Servers aren't designed to sleep, they are designed to run 24/7/365 for years at a time without issues. Maybe if you posted a list of your hardware someone may be able to comment on whether or not your specific stuff can be configured to sleep, or it may need specific commands to wake up properly. There is a reason sleep isn't part of the stock unraid software, it's too unpredictable and difficult to support. Quote Link to comment
SBP
I only use it one hour a day for my backup process. Running it 24/7/365 is a waste of energy and money. Here is my unraid setup: M/B: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 Version - s/n: BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. Version P1.30. Dated: 07/12/2019 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics @ 3700 MHz HVM: Enabled IOMMU: Disabled Cache: 384 KiB, 2048 KiB, 4096 KiB Memory: 16 GiB DDR4 (max. installable capacity 128 GiB) Network: bond0: fault-tolerance (active-backup), mtu 1500 eth0: 1000 Mbps, full duplex, mtu 1500 Quote Link to comment
