refactory
Hi, as a tutorial for setup GPU Passthrough I used this: https://mathiashueber.com/windows-virtual-machine-gpu-passthrough-ubuntu/?unapproved=147&moderation-hash=8f85194c113bfe4fd2121d193c0e0fa5#comment-147 It all worked really well until it came to booting Windows. The redirected Monitor shows the TianoCore Logo of the virtual BIOS, but as soon as Windows starts the screen does not change - it should show the rotating windows wheel etc. Windows does actually boot. When I start the VM from the Virtual Manager GUI I have a small mirrored screen where I can watch after the BIOS boot, how Windows starts. Now I tried all sorts of things for a few days, but I could not get it fixed. Anybody has an Idea? My Hardware: Hardware (IOMMU enabled): Asus M5A99X Evo / 16 GB Ram AMD FX-8350 MSI GTX 960 PCIe 16_1 (Host Graka) MSI GTX 1050Ti PCIe 16_2(Guest Graka) Software: Qemu Version: 3.1 4.15.0-66-generic Nvidia driver: 435 win10_GTX_1050_Ti.xml I would really appreciate, if someone could give me a hint. Thanx, Bye Claus Edited November 16, 2019 by refactory Quote Link to comment
trurl
Your post doesn't mention Unraid, and your link is about hosting VMs in ubuntu. Are you trying to host your VMs in Unraid? Unraid OS is the whole point of this forum. If your question is about hosting VMs in some other OS you are in the wrong place. Quote Link to comment
refactory
Hi, thanks for the hint. I actually solved the problem. The vitual machine manager added the video tag into my xml config - I did not notice that. After making sure that does not happen it workes all fine. Quote Link to comment
