Noburt
I'm trying to use unraid as my main machine. I just need to be able to have a windows 10 machine for gaming I can get a windows 10 VM working and running with VNC graphics. I can get it to swap over to my R9 290, but after that if I reboot the machine, it just doesn't work after that. I don't know what I'm doing, or lack of doing that causes it, but it's the only thing stopping me from using unraid full time right now Any help would be great, system specs below Based on HP Z420 RAM - 32GB samsung ECC RAM GPU - R9 290 with Nvidia Quadro FX 580(FX 580 only for unraid, and is in 2nd slot) CPU - E5 2689 (8 core, 16 thread, no listing on intel ark because it was a specially made processor from what I have seen) For storage I'm using a spare 160gb HDD for now and an 8GB PNY thumbdrive for unraid I have IOMMU and VT-d enabled, anything to do with visualizing. My r9 290 is on it's own IOMMU group, the VM will work until I reboot the VM once. And still doesn't work after PC reboots. Feel free to ask for any other information. I'm happy to help anyone that is trying to help me! Quote Link to comment
Squid
Sounds like While its never affected me, my understanding is that this is an error made by AMD themselves, and that any fixes etc are frowned upon until AMD fixes the problem with their cards because otherwise is to encourage AMD to not do things correctly. I'll probably try this, but I do have a spare GTX 780 that I could use, I just don't want to because of having to do the vbios stuff, it's a hair bit slower and only has 3GB of vram.
